When Drs. Charlene, OD ’07 and Joseph Morfoot, OD ’07 opened Morfoot Family Eye Care in March 2023, they weren’t just launching a new practice, they were planting deeper roots in the community they’ve called home for more than fifteen years.

Located a mile from their house in Huntley, IL, the practice reflects the Morfoot family’s long–standing connection to the community they are part of; a patient–centered environment supported by local families who already knew and trusted the Morfoot name, with some patients even commuting from neighboring towns.

The journey to Morfoot Family Eye Care began long before opening its doors. Joseph had practiced for years with fellow ICO graduate Timothy M. Beyer, OD ’07, FAAO, at Precision Eye Care, while Charlene worked in a corporate setting to provide health insurance for the family. Encouraged by her growing desire to build something of her own, Charlene partnered with ICO alumni advisors Robert Steinmetz, OD ’03 and Eric A. Baas, OD ’06 of iCare Advisors to bring the idea of her practice to life.

Today, the Morfoots enjoy the challenging, rewarding balance of running a family business while raising two daughters, managing softball schedules, and even exploring new adventures like scuba diving.
