Connie M. Scavuzzo, MA, Senior Director of Alumni Development,
has announced her retirement as of June 30th.
I’ve been blessed to have had a 36-year career in higher education, including 17 years at ICO. I am thankful for all of the friendships I’ve made throughout my time at ICO, especially the wonderful relationships with alumni. I admire your willingness to serve others and the love and passion you have for optometry. Each of you is making a difference in your patients’ lives every day. Your dedication to the profession and your patients continues to inspire me.
I would like to thank ICO for providing me with the opportunity to meet so many amazing people. I am thankful to be part of an institution that has provided so many of you with the education you needed to live your dream, to give back to the community, and to love what you do every day. It is my hope that you will continue to serve as role models for new graduates, to be mentors for current and prospective students, and to be positive, enthusiastic ambassadors for ICO and the profession. Please keep supporting your Alma Mater in any way you can. YOU are ICO's greatest resource.
I now plan to spend more time with my family and to use my degree in counseling to help others. My husband and I share similar volunteer interests and will, hopefully, continue making a difference in the lives of others moving forward.
I hope our paths will cross again someday. May you live enriched lives and continue to do what gives you purpose. And may God bless you richly.
