On January 15, 2025, we proudly celebrated the 10-year anniversary of the Alfred and Sarah Rosenbloom Center on Vision and Aging. The event served as a meaningful reflection of how far the Rosenbloom Center has come over the past decade.
The celebration brought together longtime members of the Illinois College of Optometry community, as well as a new generation of optometrists completing their externships
and residencies. They were joined by staff and many
veteran attendings.
The Rosenbloom Center has steadily evolved. Today, students rotating through the Center manage complex cases involving cataracts, glaucoma, and macular conditions. This experience continues to be a vital component of ICO’s clinical training, offering students the opportunity to engage with challenging cases in a real-world setting.
We were especially honored to welcome back Dr. Rosenbloom’s children, Sue and Al, who have been integral to the Center’s legacy. Their presence was a powerful reminder of the values on which the Center was founded and the ongoing support that sustains its mission.
We hope all who attended the anniversary celebration left with a renewed sense of pride in what the Rosenbloom Center has accomplished and a clear understanding of how we continue to honor Dr. Rosenbloom’s vision while preparing for the future.
