In October 2024, ICO welcomed two new members to our Board of Trustees: Jennifer Harthan, OD ’06 and 

Rupe Hansra, OD ’94.

Dr. Harthan joins as the Alumni Council President Trustee and will serve as long as she holds that role. She is Chief of the Cornea and Contact Lens Center for Clinical Excellence at ICO and serves as only the third Executive Director in GPLI's history. A leader in specialty contact lenses and active researcher, she is also a Diplomate in the Cornea, Contact Lenses & Refractive Technologies Section of the American Academy of Optometry. We’re proud to have her as a faculty member and look forward to seeing what she will do as alumni council president.

Dr. Hansra, Vice President of Professional Affairs at Topcon Healthcare, brings over 20 years of industry experience. He now plays a key role in advancing AI-based tools for disease detection through noninvasive retinal imaging. His expertise will help ICO stay connected to emerging technologies in optometry. His perspective as a leader at the intersection of clinical care and innovation will provide ICO context into the many advances that are quickly developing.
