For the second year in a row, we brought back the Residents’ Day Continuing Education program, thanks in large part to its past popularity. Approximately 200 doctors attended both in person and virtually as each resident presented their most compelling case in a grand rounds format. This structure, where information is revealed sequentially, invites attendees to work through diagnoses alongside the resident, culminating in the final diagnosis and treatment plan.
Because of the complexity and diversity of ICO’s patient base, this event always brings quite a bit of excitement and the residents’ creative presentation titles added some mystery too. With names like “Shaked, Rattled, and Rolled” and “Bubble Trouble,” topics ranged from contact lens options post-keratoplasty to venous sinus stenting for idiopathic intracranial hypertension. It was a fun and educational day, and a great showcase of the outstanding work our residents are doing. To learn more about our residents, check out this issue’s "Essentials”, which features Reneta Simeon, OD ’24, one of our residents specializing in Ocular Disease.
