We’re proud to announce the launch of our new website, created exclusively for our alumni. This digital resource is your one-stop-shop for all things alumni. We’ve developed a directory to facilitate communication and introduced new ways to engage with ICO and the entire alumni community. Here are a few key highlights:
Password-less Login!
We listened to your feedback: remembering old passwords from years ago can be tough. Now, you no longer need a password to log in. Simply register with your ICO-issued email, and a single-use password code will be emailed to you. After the initial registration, you can update your contact information. Alternatively, you can log in directly using your social media handles, Gmail or Yahoo accounts, bypassing the need for a one-time passcode.
Update Your Profile
When you move or change practices, updating your contact information shouldn’t require you to directly contact ICO. Now, once you’ve logged in, you can update your contact information and profile picture yourself. You control which parts of your profile are shared with other users.
Additionally, you can add personal and professional milestones to your account, such as getting married, moving to a new city, receiving an award, or achieving an optometric milestone. This helps your fellow classmates stay in touch and keeps them informed about what’s happening in your life.
Alumni Directory
We’ve created a database of over 8,000 ICO alumni, making it easier than ever to connect with your classmates. With added filters, you can search by class year, employment, or simply find people in your city.
We’ve also integrated an interactive map, allowing you to zoom in and out to search the directory by geographic location. Simply select "Directory > by Map" to connect with alumni nationwide. You'll see that ICO alumni are spread across the entire North American continent.

ICO Marketplace
Our alumni community is thriving, with many optometrists transitioning through different stages of their careers. Some no longer need certain equipment, others are retiring and looking to sell their practice.
Now, ICO alums have a dedicated space for these transactions. Simply fill out a form with the item you wish to sell or trade. After Alumni Affairs reviews it, your listing will be posted for others to browse. Interested buyers can email you directly to arrange the details.
Career Board/Careers in Optometry
Beyond connecting with one another, few things are more important for alumni than sharing career opportunities. We feature careers for ICO ODs posted by ICO ODs. You have all been through the same rigorous training, and the career board will help new graduates find opportunities while helping alumni connect with quality candidates.
Social Spaces
Ever wish there was an online space for the community? Spaces allow you to comment, like, and share posts by other community members. A few examples of current Spaces include quarterly newsletter announcements, a space for alumni to engage with current fourth-year students, a space just for ICO Marketplace participants and more! Don't see a Space? Contact us with your idea!
Transcripts & Diplomas
Perhaps the most popular alumni-related issue is the need for official transcripts and copies of your diploma. On alumni.ico.edu, we can now use your verified account to process requests 100% online with just four questions on a form.
Websites are iterative, as is alumni.ico.edu. We are always open to new ideas and welcome any suggestions you might have. Likewise, if you see something wrong or have a question, we're just one contact form away! Under the "More" tab, there is a "Suggestion Box" that will email your ideas and concerns directly to the Communications and Alumni Affairs.
